The AFC is a flexible, general purpose, open hardware, MicroTCA compatible FPGA board, designed for low-latency, real-time data acquisition and processing. It comes with a Xilinx Artix 7 XC7A200T FPGA, 2GB DDR3 memory, flexible clock configuration, PCIe support, 2x FMC slots and 1x Rear Transition Module slot. This project is an attempt to promote a common platform for use in particle accelerators and other experiments, embracing an open firmware development model to avoid duplicating efforts.
