There are so many great platforms for creating digitally enabled devices that its gotten hard to figure out which one to use. Arduino is maybe one of the most famous, but it is based on ATMEL Microcontrollers and the boards are difficult to build or expensive in Latin America or others countries. The goal of Pinguino Project is to bring the simplicity of Arduino language to the PIC ©Microchip Microcontrollers but with buil-in USB hardware and a board that you can build in your house. In this talk, Victor Villarreal (project coordinator), will briefly review the history of Pinguino, its use cases, current status and different ways of collaborating with this project or implementing it in the educational field.
